Starikovsky

Poet, translator, and essayist. Born (1971) and raised in Moscow. Based in the United States since 1992. Graduated from Columbia University (Department of Classics). He has translated Homer, Pindar, Aeschylus, Sophocles, Virgil, Aulus Persius, as well as poems by Walt Whitman, William Carlos Williams, Louis MacNeice, Derek Walcott, Seamus Heaney, and others. Poetry collections: «Левиты и певцы» (Levites and Singers, 2013), «Автономный источник» (Autonomous Source, 2017), «Птица разрыва» (Bird of Rupture, 2022), «Голодное озеро» (Hungry Lake, 2025). Lives in the New York suburbs. Teaches Latin at a school.
