Poet, essayist, translator, and editor of the magazine Círculo de Poesía. Born in 1968 in Los Mochis, Sinaloa. Coordinator of literary workshops and editor for various projects, and a member of the National System of Art Creators (SNCA). He has received the National Poetry Prize of Aguascalientes (2007), the Bellas Artes Prize for Literary Essay named after José Revueltas (2010), and the Alhambra Prize for American Poetry (2012), among other awards. More recent honors include the Ignacio Rodríguez Galván Prize (2015), the Literature Fără Frontiere Prize (Romania, 2016), the Klísthenes Medal from the Demos Aigaleo (Athens, 2017), and the Antonio L. Bouza City of Burgos Prize for his book Arqueología del Fuego Nuevo (Visor, 2025). He is the author of an extensive poetic and essayistic body of work, including El deseo postergado, En el ardor de los signos, Arqueología del Fuego Nuevo, and Memorial de Ayotzinapa.
