Poet, philologist, translator, professor at Dartmouth College (Hanover, New Hampshire). Born in 1970 in Tashkent. In 1992, he graduated from the Faculty of Philology at Moscow State University, and in 2000, he completed his postgraduate studies at the University of Southern California. He has lived in the United States since 1995. His first poems were published in the early 1990s in the journal Vavilon. His debut book Dear Orphans (Moscow: OGI, 2002) was awarded the Andrei Bely Prize in Poetry. In 2020, he became the laureate of the Grand Prize "Moscow Account" («Московский счёт») for his second poetry collection A Brief History of Attention (Moscow: Novoe Izdatelstvo, 2019).
