Poet, translator, and prose writer. Born in 1951 in Petrovsk, Saratov Region. Graduated from the Faculty of Physics at Moscow State University and worked as a translator of scientific and technical literature. In the late 1980s, she was a member of the Poeziya Club, a semi-official association of uncensored poets of her generation. She translated contemporary American poetry. Three of Iskrenko’s books were published during her lifetime in 1991: Ili (Or), Referendum (Referendum) in Moscow, and Neskolko slov (A Few Words) in Paris. Her collected works were published posthumously in Russia by ARGO-RISK and Kolonna Publications. In 1995, a book of Iskrenko’s poems in English translation, The Right to Err: Selected Work, was published in Colorado.
