Poet, prose writer, translator, art critic. Born in 1964 in Leningrad. Graduated from the Faculty of Philology at the University of Tartu. Author of several scholarly studies on the work of Leonid Dobychin. From 1993 to 1998, she lived in Jerusalem, where she studied at the Faculty of Art History at the Hebrew University. She has lived in Rome since 1998. Her poems have been translated into English, Hebrew, Italian, Chinese, Portuguese, Slovak, Slovenian, Serbian, and German. Author of the poetry collections Line of Separation (1994), Residence Permit (2000), Only Trees: Third Book of Poems (2008), and Cursed Tongue, Drop Dead (Moscow; Tbilisi: Druharnia ShALASH, 2026). Laureate of the Andrei Bely Prize in Prose for her novel Appendix (Moscow: NLO, 2016). Lives in Rome.
