Translator into Russian, physicist, and programmer. Lives in the United States. Translates from English, Scots, and French. Born in 1960 in Moscow. Graduated from the Faculty of Molecular and Biological Physics at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT). Known for his translations of Robert Burns, Rudyard Kipling, Stéphane Mallarmé, Oscar Wilde, Sara Teasdale, Leconte de Lisle, Maurice Rollinat, H. P. Lovecraft, and others. He translated D. H. Lawrence's Birds, Beasts and Flowers into Russian, which is forthcoming. In 2021, Allen Ginsberg's collection Howl & Kaddish appeared in Manin's Russian translation.
